How To Teach Bach Gavotte

Today in our How To Teach Intermediate Piano Repertoire series we are looking at the Gavotte from Bach’s French Suite in G major, BWV 816.

This movement is included in my Bach Leveler resource - a spreadsheet of over 80 pieces written by Johann Sebastian Bach (or found within his Notebooks) that are standard pre-college or amateur repertoire.

Out of my years of experience teaching Bach to pre-college students, I have developed a grouping system to help you see where each piece fits within the range of his output, and the stage at which it is appropriate to introduce each piece to your students. Check it out here!
