Today we’re talking about how to teach the second movement (Adagio cantabile) of Beethoven’s Pathetique Sonata Op.13. This famous piece offers a myriad of learning opportunities for students; I’ve decided to focus on rhythm and tempo, balance of melody and accompaniment, and ornaments.
